As an impatient teenager, I set out on tuning my family’s piano as it was a full step below pitch, which can be quite frustrating for a young musician with a good ear! At that point, I sought help in learning the craft of tuning and other technical repair work from a local piano technician and rebuilder. He and his wife taught me the craft of tuning a piano by ear, and also how to repair and replace keytops, repair action parts, regulate a piano well, and even how to replace pins and strings.

Since then, I have been tuning pianos regurarly and have also worked for M.T. Cowell Piano Company in Lincoln, NE where I refurbished and rebuilt many grand piano actions which has given me a strong background of expereince to tune, voice, regulate, and do minor repairs to mechanical parts and to cosmetics.
